Window Tinting
Window tinting is the application of a thin film retrofit coating that serves as an upgrade to the interior or exterior of a glass surface. These glass surfaces can include, but are not limited to, automobiles, boats, homes, and buildings. There are several great types of films that are created by several different types of manufacturers. Our group is skilled and comfortable using any film out there given our experience. Typically, window film is made using polyester due to its clarity, tensile strength, dimension stability, and ability to apply to several different types of surfaces. However, there are different types of films that will adhere better to different types of areas and we have access to those as well.
Window film can typically be described by the components it contains. The components dictate the films performance and/or its aesthetics. Some of these include the dye, whether they are metalized, ceramic, and its intended use. Despite all of these descriptions, the most general two divisions of window film are automotive and architectural. Automotive, which will include boats, require a different type of film that must be able to reshape to the design of a vehicles back window. With architectural film, the focus on the film is with heat resistance and other necessary qualities for home and buildings such as glare reduction and security. Many companies will offer both services but rarely will a company have the experience in both areas like the Solar Control Group does.
